Dreaming of warmer weather

Our next trip is planned for 8 June to 15 June to celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We are off to Hamilton Island to stay at Villa Illalangi. You can check it out here. It is absolutely spectacular! I can't wait.

The MONA

This afternoon we drove to Berriedale to have lunch at the Museum of Old and New Art, known as the MONA. We had a superb meal at the restaurant - The Source. The views out over the Derwent River are spectacular as are the views back along the river towards Hobart. While our main meals were terrific, the desserts were to die for!!! Col went as far as to rate her chocolate praline as the best ever!

Salamanca Markets

Our morning was spent ducking showers at a Hobart institution - the Salamanca Markets. It was just lovely wandering around in such beautiful surrounding - harbour and water views on one side and magnificent historical buildings on the other. There was also plenty of live music including a pipe band. Very enjoyable.

55 Davey Street

Great accommodation in the heart of Hobart just opposite King David Park. Quirky but comfortable. A terrific base as it is within walking distance of everything.

Out and About in Hobart Town

After a lazy start we set out between showers for a walk around Hobart city centre. Col and I shopped as we walked. Col bought boots and a couple of tops. I splashed out on a top, a cardi, a skirt for mum and a photo frame. The boys raced off ahead and found a great Italian cafe for lunch. After lunch they headed back to the Welcome Stranger Hotel for a bit of man time playing pinball and having a punt. Col and I strolled home browsing in a few more shops. Dinner was at Fish Frenzy on Elizabeth Pier. Yum!!!
