Yosemite National Park

Today was awesome! Yosemite is awesome! The weather was awesome! We were on the road early for the 90 minute drive to the valley floor. Our first stop was Tunnel View.

We then continued on to Yosemite Lodge and Village where we boarded an open air shuttle for a guided tour of the area. Ranger Scott was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about Yosemite.

At the conclusion of our tour we had several hours to explore on our own. Stephen and I walked around the village area, visited the gallery and museum and the Indian Village. It was all very interesting.

Wildlife count for the day:
1 coyote
1 deer
Lots of squirrels
1 rattlesnake (seen by other members of our group but, thankfully not us)
0 bears (obviously we didn't pack the right sort of pic-a-nic basket)

Tomorrow is another big travel day as we head back to the coast. We will visit Carmel and do the famous 17 mile drive before spending the night in Monteray.
