Savannah to Atlanta

Another travel day today as we headed west to Atlanta for an overnight stay on our way to Nashville, Tennessee. On our long drive through the farming region of Georgia we watched the movie Forrest Gump. While we were in Savannah one of the town squares we visited was Chippewa Square where the scenes on the park bench were filmed. We had also visited a number of the monuments around Washington highlighted in the movie. We did drive through some very heavy rain, remnants of Hurricane Harvey, which is now making its way north east across the US.

Atlanta is the home of companies such as Coke-Cola, UPS, CNN, Home Depot, Delta Air Lines, AT&T Mobility and Chick-fil-A. Over 6,000,000 people live in Atlanta.

On arrival in Atlanta Stephen and I headed out to visit Lennox Square which is a huge shopping centre not far form our hotel. We popped into Pottery Barn to admire the 'fall' displays. There were pumpkins of every size and colour.
