Day 11 - Salzburg to Vienna

Today is our last day together as a group. We were up and on the bus by 8.00am for the short drive to Mondsee (moon sea) to visit the church where Maria married Captain Von Trapp. The churches here are incredible. The Swiss and Austrians are very religious people and their churches the grandest I have ever seen. Once inside St. Michael's you could understand why the produces of the movie would choose it for the wedding scene.

After this quick photo op we were back on the bus for the four hour drive to Vienna. We arrived just before 1.00pm. Those of us staying on in Vienna hopped off the bus and the other half of the group went onto Budapest (another three hours.) We meet two very nice couples on the tour but unfortunately they were both booked on the cruise starting today so we had to say goodbye. After settling into our room Stephen and I headed out to explore the city. Some of the architecture is very beautiful. We made our way to the city centre and the impressive St. Stephen's church. We then found the famous Demel's for lunch. We pretended we were one of the rich and famous for a short while. The food was delicious.

We are now relaxing in the lobby where the WiFi is free.
