The past two days have been hectic and are current hotel in Innsbruck has been experiencing internet difficulties so I am well behind in my blogging.
Friday was spent in and around Lucerne. It was also our last official day in Switzerland. We cruised Lake Lucerne first thing in the morning. The scenery was spectacular. A beautiful clear lake ringed by impressive mountains. We made our way across to the cog wheel station in order to catch the train to the top of Mt. Rigi. Unfortunately the weather gods were not kind to us and the cloud refused to lift. We did get little glimpses of the imposing mountain ranges and of Lake Lucerne, and there were lots of cows and wild flowers to admire. We caught the cable car down, back on the bus for a short tour around the lake and then a free afternoon which Stephen and I filled with a walk around the old town and a little bit of shopping.
In the evening we had dinner in a traditional Swiss restaurant. The dinner included a show of all things Swiss. There was yodeling, dancing, flag throwing, etc. A little bit kitsch but fun and interesting all the same.
