Day 8 - Innsbruck to Munich

Each day seems to be bigger than the day before. Our first stop today was Swarovski World. Wow!!! The museum is very interesting, the crystals and artworks amazing and the shopping.....well let's just say that quite a few things will be making the trip back to Australia with us.

We were back on the bus by 10.30am for the two hour drive to Neuschwanstein Castle. I have long looked at photos of this magical place and was really excited that we were going to visit. When you finally get to the top and look at the castle it is easy to understand why Walt Disney used the silhouette to represent the magical kingdom.

Late in the afternoon it was back on the bus for the two and a half hour trip to Munich via the very pretty town of Oberammergau where the famous Passion Play is held every ten years. The houses are decorated with flowers or painted with pictures depicting traditional folk tales. I would have liked to have spent more time here as it really was exceptionally beautiful and it was very difficult to take a decent photo from the bus.

We finally arrived in Munich at 6.30pm. We were so tired we decided to have room service for dinner while we tried to catch up with photos, blogs, emails, etc.

Tomorrow we tour the city and in the afternoon we visit Dachau Concentration Camp. Should be another brilliant day, although I am expecting it to be a bit emotional.
